Additional location information: Large patch of discolored water seen 8/31/07 approximately 1 mile offshore of Mustang Island, TX. Water samples contained high levels of A. sanguinea. Sept 1-2 a fish kill comprised mostly of Gulf Menhaden was reported neaer Rollover Pass on Bolivar Peninsula. Water samples confirmed a bloom of A. sanguinea. Over 1,000,000 fish killed along the length of Bolivar Peninsula: gulf menhaden, silver perch, star drum, atlantic bumper, hardhead catfish, gafftop catfish, and atlantic cutlassfish. Smaller fish kill noticed inside the Galveston jetties near the Galveston Ship Channel assumed (but not confirmed) to be caused by the same bloom.
