Economic losses: High economic losses due to mortality in benthic mussel culture. These were associated with the Phaeocystis bloom, however proof was not given.
Management decision: The mussel plots were temporarily closed, due to the potential of shellfish disease. Once analyses validated absence of disease the plots were re-opened.
