Additional bloom information: | One of the reasons why this bloom did not persist in the system for long was the salinity range. The development of many species of epiphytic dinoflagellates occurs at 32 practical salinity units (PSU) (Hernández, 2019), and the locally obtained value was 1 PSU, indicative of a river with marine influence. | |
