Microalgae

Causative organism known: Yes
Causative Species/Genus: Pseudo-nitzschia seriata (5600 cells/L)
2008-09-28
Co-Ocurring Species/Genus:
Chlorophyll concentration, if known: µg/l
Additional bloom information: There maybe some other species that may contribute to explain the presence of domoic acid. However, there is no taxonomic observation supporting this possibility at our HAMP stations. The most atypical observation for 2008 is the unusual abundances of Pseudo-nitzschia pungens at our stations(Max: 343 501 cells/L at Q-9 in mid-Oct). However, this species wasn't observed in two sectors (Q-11 and Q-12)
